Last year, over 55,000 students were involved in various activities throughout Student Volunteer Week. Students at University across the country gave up their time to make a positive change. Students who have endless deadlines, friends scattered across the country and a whole lot of life admin to contend with, showed that there is always a way to fit in volunteering amongst all the assignment chaos.
Here at DTL, we are always looking for ambassadors that can spread our ethos across campuses. Involvement can be anything from helping us to show off our merchandise, to hosting a big event. It all helps. Plus, there’s a whole lot in it for you too…
Here are just some of the reasons you should get involved:
-
Learn something new
Being an ambassador is great for experience. You learn so many skills, such as event planning and team management (all impressive to anyone looking to hire you after uni) Plus, you will receive some marketing training from us too – it’s a win-win.
2. Make new friends
Uni isn’t always as social as you imagine it to be. Sometimes it can be hard to meet people, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Being an ambassador involves getting a team together and spreading the word about DTL, which means you will be introduced to a whole lot of people that you might end up clicking with.
3. Feel motivated
Sometimes, Uni can feel a little demotivating. When the only purpose of your work is to get the grades, it’s easy to feel uninspired. Volunteering is the exact opposite of that. You can be confident that your work is making a difference and feel good about what you have done.
4. Use your experience for good
Helping others is a great way to turn negative experiences that you may have had, into positive ones. Being a DTL ambassador means that you can share advice based on your own past experiences. You never know, you might learn a thing or two yourself!
5. You will make more memories
When you look back at university, you’ll want to have memories that you are proud of. As an ambassador, you’ll rack up so many achievements, that when you look back, you will be full of pride.
