Dear Andrew Tate,

You couldn’t be more wrong. Depression exists and it is a crippling and debilitating condition which permeates the lives of millions of people.

Mental illness affects a quarter of the world’s population. 350 million people have depression. What qualifies you to deny the existence of a condition that affects hundreds of millions of people globally?

You say you’ve never experienced depression, all we can say is, lucky you. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 40 years of age, let that sink in for a minute. Guys just like you, who are fit and healthy, some of them athletes, some of them musicians, academics, creatives and scientists have been taken down by this illness.

Some of the strongest most influential people in the world have spoken out about their depression publicly. This takes more courage than strapping on your gloves and stepping in the ring. You only have to look to Google to see the extent of this illness; you’ll be surprised.

Speaking out about mental illness is a sign of unwavering strength, not weakness. Those who deny it’s existence are the weakest.

Depression doesn’t pick and choose its victims: everyone is vulnerable and no one is immune. It does not discriminate. Circumstance, health, money or relationship status plays no factor.

If only it was as simple as ‘making changes’ and ‘getting out more’. No one deserves it, no one asks for it and we sincerely hope you never have to face it.

Best,

Team Ditch
